Jet furnace from a square tube. Do-it-yourself rocket stove drawings and manufacturing process

When choosing the main functional component of a solid fuel heating system, in addition to efficiency, attention is paid to the duration of operating cycles and ease of maintenance. To implement the plan, taking into account the marked details, a rocket oven is suitable. The simplicity of the design implies the absence of excessive difficulties in the independent performance of work operations.

Varieties of rocket furnaces

Scheme of the jet furnace

The specific name is explained by the characteristic hum, which resembles the roar of the engines of a launching rocket. In more advanced designs, with the correct setting of the operating mode, noise is reduced to a minimum level.

The classic scheme demonstrates the features of a jet stove. In this design, the fuel is loaded vertically. The flame is formed in a horizontal section. With a sufficiently strong air supply, the jet of heated gases quickly turns around the wall of the main chamber. This provokes a vortex effect in the central part (riser), which increases thrust. In the side channels, the walls are heated. Residual heat accumulates in the lining of the outlet pipe connected to the chimney. This part is traditionally created in the form of a couch.

Rocket furnace has the following advantageous characteristics:

  • high efficiency;
  • the possibility of using wood waste, cones, other types solid fuel;
  • operational loading without interrupting the combustion process;
  • lack of complex elements;
  • minimum waste (high temperature).

Jet stoves cannot heat a large room

For objectivity, it should be noted the shortcomings of the rocket stove:

  • the use of a water heat exchanger worsens the characteristics of the operating mode;
  • in certain situations it is possible to enter the room carbon monoxide;
  • the power of the structure is not enough for the full heating of a large property.

Not everyone likes the appearance of such a structure. However, this parameter largely depends on individual tastes. With the right finish, it is not difficult to ensure harmonious compliance with a certain interior style.

The jet furnace in various modifications was used by the population of Japan, China, Korea and other countries. Modern analogues, while maintaining the basic principles, differ:

  • a variety of designs;
  • application of new materials;
  • accurate engineering calculations.

As an example, some stove-makers mention the Chinese kan. However, this design is similar only to a long chimney, which was often installed under several benches along the walls. In the corresponding embodiment, this part performed the functions modern system"warm floor". The firebox was created in standard scheme with the obligatory device of a plate for cooking.

Russian stove

With maximum simplification, you can get the desired result:

  • pipes are connected at right angles;
  • a shelf for fuel is installed in the horizontal part - 60% of the diameter below the top edge;
  • the lower part of the hole forms an unregulated blower;
  • the device is equipped with supports for fixing on a horizontal surface in the working position.

Gas cylinder stove

Factory made of quality metal - good foundation to create a custom design. In addition to reliable welded joints gas cylinder suitable for wall thickness.

Furnace and design scheme from a gas cylinder

When choosing components, sheet metal with a thickness of at least 5-6 mm should be used. The diameter of the main part of the structure is more than 30 cm. The door in the opening for fuel loading can be used to regulate the intensity of air supply. This addition will prevent carbon monoxide from entering the room. If you intend to use the oven for cooking, cut off exactly the top of the cylinder along with the valve. The hole is closed with a steel plate with a thickness of more than 5 mm, which is welded to the main part of the body.

In the version without a lounger, residual heat is not accumulated, so the efficiency is lower compared to the "classic" version of the stove.

It is recommended to insulate the inner chamber. Sufficiently thick walls will help to ensure the temperature rise to the level of +950C° and above. This is necessary for high-quality playback technological process. With such heating, complete combustion of the fuel with a minimum amount of ash is ensured.

Shirokov-Khramtsov oven

This Russian modification is an improved version of the classic scheme. The main components of the Shirokov-Khramtsov furnace are made from an expensive grade of concrete that is resistant to high temperatures. An accurate calculation significantly improved the stability of performance, which made it possible to place heat-resistant glass in the bunker area to partially release infrared radiation towards the room. An impromptu fireplace heats the room and acts as a spectacular element of decor.

Rocket furnace from a profile pipe

Hiking option rocket oven factory production "Robinson"

For a hike, equipping a summer residence, solving other "temporary" problems, a mobile version of heating equipment is suitable. A good example is the Robinson oven. The supply of fuel and air is organized through a profile element ( rectangular section 150 x 100 mm). The combustion zone is made of a pipe. The divider at the outlet is used as a stand for heating dishes.

Other models

A functional rocket oven with your own hands can be made from 20 whole bricks and two halves. Such a structure is assembled in just ten minutes on a prepared flat area. Careful calculations and drawings are not needed. Work operations are performed without welding equipment and building mixtures. Fuel consumption is approximately 3-6 times less than firewood compared to the "potbelly stove". It is acceptable to use raw firewood, branches, fragments of old furniture.

simple brick oven

Unlike a fire, this design retains heat for a long time. You can put dishes on the narrow opening. For convenience, a specialized support is used - a grate made of steel rods or cast iron. Even in such a simple version, a high temperature is created in the working area, which contributes to the complete combustion of the fuel with minimal smoke emission.

Principle of operation

An ordinary fire does not ensure the rational use of fuel resources. A significant part of the energy is uselessly dissipated into the surrounding space. There are no convection processes, heat accumulators. Impossible to fine-tune the combustion process. The access of oxygen is not limited.

With the use of a chimney and a closed working area the noted shortcomings are eliminated. However, the jet furnace is more efficient than the typical stove. The main difference is chimney placed inside the main structure. An increase in the exit path of gases is accompanied by a gradual decrease in temperature by different areas(example, values are in C°):

  • central shaft (riser): 700-1100;
  • gap between walls: 250-380;
  • area under the bed: 30-90.

Improved draft in jet furnace design

The drawings show the design features that provide sufficient traction with an increase in the length of the smoke extraction path. Another advantage is the high-temperature decomposition of organics with a limited supply of oxygen (pyrolysis).

If the do-it-yourself rocket furnace is created correctly, favorable conditions are provided for the formation of low molecular weight hydrocarbon compounds. Heating devices of this type are capable of providing an efficiency of more than 90%. Similar solutions are used in the design of household solid fuel boilers. long burning.

Homemade construction

In the absence of experience, you can choose a simplified design of several bricks, a bent pipe. If you have skills in handling a welding machine, create a furnace from a square profile and sheet metal.

Furnace drawing and dimensions

The presented option can be adjusted taking into account the volume of the room, other personal requirements and preferences. The developers recommend setting the diameter of the riser channel in the range from 65 to 105 mm. Change the dimensions of the shell accordingly.

Drawing with explanations for assembly

To accumulate thermal energy, adobe was chosen. This material is not heat resistant, so the temperature must be lowered to a safe level. Additional recommendations:

  • the drum can be made from a standard 50-liter cylinder;
  • provide perfect tightness of the smoke exhaust system to prevent the penetration of soot into the porous adobe;
  • to remove residual mechanical impurities, a second ash pan is installed.

Step-by-step instruction

Homemade wood stove rocket

A do-it-yourself jet wood-burning stove can be created according to the following algorithm:

  1. For the manufacture of a mixture of the main heat-insulating layer (5b), crushed stone from chamotte grade SHL is used.
  2. The furnace support frame is assembled from wooden lag(100 x 100) with cells no more than 600 mm, the distance under the lounger can be increased.
  3. For sheathing, mineral cardboard, tongue-and-groove boards are used.
  4. Wooden blanks are pre-treated with impregnation with biocidal additives.
  5. The area under the main part of the structure is covered with a metal sheet.
  6. After placing the structure at the planned place, the formwork is installed, the adobe is poured.
  7. A drum is made from a suitable gas cylinder.
  8. To create reliable welded joints, electrodes with a diameter of 2 mm are used, direct current with a power of 60-70A.
  9. The sealing seal is created from an asbestos cord, fixed with heat-resistant glue.
  10. A riser is assembled from prepared steel billets.
  11. Install the bottom layer of insulation, plywood (20 mm) or boards are used for formwork.
  12. Filling with building mixture is carried out to level B according to the drawing. It takes 1-2 days for this part to dry completely at room temperature.
  13. Install the firebox, controlling the accuracy of the vertical position.
  14. Part of the blower will protrude outward, so at the final stage the wall is leveled with adobe.
  15. After filling with the mixture to level D, it is recommended to speed up the drying with a conventional 60-75 W incandescent bulb (placed under the riser).
  16. An ash pan is installed, made of a steel sheet with a thickness of 0.8-1 mm.
  17. The drum tube is mounted with the formation of a wedge-shaped slope towards the exit in the inner part (mixture 5b).
  18. A lining with layer-by-layer filling (5g) is created, the cork is made of clay.
  19. Continue assembly according to the scheme, install the corrugation, drum covers and ash pan.
  20. After drying is completed (2-25 weeks), the formwork is removed, the surface is formed, visible metal parts are painted.

Explanations for the composition of building mixtures (5):

  • a - adobe made of clay and straw, the consistency of thick dough;
  • b - clay of medium fat content with crushed stone from fireclay;
  • c - fireclay sand with clay in proportions one to one;
  • d - river sand without washing with a fixed granule size (2.5-3 mm);
  • e - kiln clay of medium fat content.

Purchase tools and consumables necessary to perform work operations in advance. The list of purchases is made on the basis of the prepared project documentation.

How to heat a rocket stove

Taking into account the long path of the smoke extraction system in a stationary structure, the need to start the operating mode after preheating is understandable. When working with Robinson and other compact counterparts, this rule does not need to be followed. But a large furnace is first heated with dry shavings, paper, and other suitable consumables. For loading use a blower with an open door. The degree of readiness is assessed by the characteristic attenuation of the noise. At this stage, the usual loading of fuel into the corresponding part of the furnace is used.

In order for the jet furnace to work efficiently, the following rules must be observed during the installation of the structure:

  1. The chimney must be at least twice as long as the horizontal or sloped section.
  2. The fuel compartment must be the same length as the horizontal section. Usually the firebox is installed at an angle of 45 °, although there are designs with an angle of 90 °. But they are less convenient in terms of fuel loading.
  3. The cross section of the chimney should not be smaller than the fuel compartment itself.

Device

Robinson factory camping stoves are made from profile pipe with a section of 150 × 100 mm. Homemade designs are made the same size. In this case, the bunker is made of a profile pipe, and the chimney is made of a round one. In order for there to be normal draft, the chimney pipe must have a diameter not less than the cross section of the firebox.

For such a fuel compartment, a chimney no longer than 90 cm is allowed. But such dimensions make the unit inconvenient for transportation, so it is better to limit yourself to a minimum of 60 cm.

For the legs, a steel bar is taken. They are threaded, making the supports easy to install and remove. However, after repeated use of the jet stove, it is pretty smoky, so the process of screwing the legs is not very pleasant. However, other options are also common, where a steel sheet is used to make the stand or non-removable legs are installed. But this makes the design more overall and inconvenient during transportation.

Robinson factory ovens there is no air supply to the combustion zone, and they do not have an adjustable cover that changes the air supply. This point can be corrected in homemade ovens. A plate is welded inside the fuel hopper, at the bottom of which there is a grate. Fuel is placed on the flat element. Air enters the combustion zone through the grate, and a damper can be installed at the top of the firebox, with which the air supply will be regulated. It is made somewhat smaller than the firebox and should not completely block the hole, otherwise the air will stop flowing into the compartment and the fire will die out.

This design of the reactive furnace provides a number of advantages:

  • a small amount of solid fuel allows for a short time bring water to a boil, heat food or cook simple dishes;
  • Robinson is not afraid of the wind, because the fire does not die out;
  • the jet furnace is easy to install;
  • the device does not smoke or smoke;
  • factory models are made of high-quality metal and covered with heat-resistant paint that can withstand high temperatures;
  • fuel does not burn out too quickly;
  • the device allows you to dry firewood;
  • the design is stable and easy to use;
  • the rocket oven heats up pretty quickly;
  • the maximum surface temperature reaches 900 °C;
  • thick steel (3.5 mm) ensures the durability of the device.

The price of the factory model is approximately 5 thousand rubles. But you can save money by making such a unit with your own hands. This task is feasible if you have certain skills.

Making a Robinson oven

The simple design of the device allows you to make a rocket stove at home. The whole procedure will take only a few hours. Materials for work are easy to find, besides, they need a little. The do-it-yourself unit is compact in size and easy to use.

The camping rocket stove is equipped with an important detail that greatly facilitates the maintenance of the unit. This metal plate with grating located at the bottom of the firebox. As a rule, it is made retractable, which allows you to remove the grate, put firewood on it and install it back. A similar plate also serves as a stand for long chips. In addition, with the grate removed, it is easier to clean the fuel compartment.

To make a jet furnace with your own hands, you must use the following materials :

  • two square pipes 150 × 150 × 3 mm: one is 45 cm long, the second is 30 cm;
  • 4 steel strips 300×50×3 mm;
  • 2 steel strips 140×50×3 mm;
  • metal grate 300 × 140 mm (it can be made from a rod of the same material with a diameter of 3-5 mm and a length of 2.5 m).

Manufacturing technology camp stove Robinson includes the following operations:

Do-it-yourself Robinson factory model

Making a rocket furnace similar to the one produced in factories is not a difficult task. There are not so many structural elements in this model:

As for the dish rack, its configuration is not of fundamental importance for the operation of the device. Therefore, this element can be done in a different way. At the same time, it is important to observe the rule according to which the stand should not block the chimney opening, so as not to disturb the draft.

In the model under consideration, 3 rings are cut in half and welded to a metal rod.

A similar design is more complicated than the previous one in that the duct is rectangular in cross section, and the chimney is round. Therefore, it is important to correctly perform operations to connect two parts into one device. Generally production technology is as follows:

  1. It all starts with the manufacture of a plate with a grate that will divide the bunker into two parts. To do this, pieces of reinforcement are welded to a flat element in increments of 10 mm.
  2. The resulting part must be welded to the rear and side walls of the hopper. The distance from the lower edge to the grating plate should be 30-35 mm. The part must be attached with a welding machine parallel to the bottom edge.
  3. Then you need to carefully weld the joints of the walls together.
  4. The bottom is attached to the resulting structure, and nuts are attached to it.
  5. The top plate is welded to the back and side walls.
  6. A cut is marked on the pipe at an angle of 30 °. The unnecessary part is cut off.
  7. The end, which has acquired the shape of an oval, must be attached to the upper section of the bunker. In this case, the pipe is placed in the lowest part of the upper plate and equidistant from the side walls. This element is circled with a marker, a hole is cut out according to the markup. To do this, you can use a welding machine or a device for cutting metal.
  8. Then a pipe must be attached to the resulting hole. A stand is installed on top of it, and the legs are screwed into the nuts. Now the rocket oven can be tested. After that, it is covered with heat-resistant paint.

Production of a modernized Robinson furnace

The model described in the previous section can be improved with a door that is installed on the fuel tank. But if you make a hinged sash, it will simply lean up, which will not allow you to adjust the traction. Such a part can only be in the “closed” or “open” position. It will be much more efficient to use a damper that moves vertically or horizontally. To install it, small corners of 10 × 10 mm or 15 × 15 mm must be welded on the bunker.

In addition, the following options for upgrading the furnace are noted:

  • the fuel bunker can be made of thicker steel, for example 5 mm;
  • replace the round chimney with a square one;
  • use a different design for the stand: as an option, take corners, balls or other elements that are at hand;
  • change the stand for a camping stove-rocket, for which a metal plate and a piece of reinforcement for making a leg can be used.

To make an upgraded oven, you will need the following materials:

  1. Square pipe with a section of 160 × 160 mm and a length of 400 mm. A firebox will be made from it.
  2. Square pipe with a section of 120 × 120 mm and a length of 600 mm. It is needed to make a chimney.
  3. A five-millimeter sheet of steel and a piece of reinforcement with a diameter of 7-8 mm. Of these, an element will be made that separates the fuel compartment and the blower channel. The size of the part should be 300 × 155 mm.
  4. Steel sheet 350×180 mm. Such material is necessary for the manufacture of the oven stand.
  5. Steel sheet 160×100 mm in size.

The production technology of this model of a camping stove does not fundamentally differ from the creation of similar structures:

  1. A metal plate with a grate must be welded to the walls of the bunker.
  2. Then attached rear part containers, and on top - a chimney.
  3. When the whole structure is ready, a metal stand is welded to it from below, and an additional support is made from a piece of reinforcement. For it, you can also use the part of the vertical pipe that remains after cutting.
  4. Pieces of corners are welded on top of the vertical pipe, which will form a stand for dishes. Its height should be 40-50 mm.
  5. The opening in the fuel tank must be closed with a hinged door or a damper inserted into the corners.
  6. The finished product can be tested. If everything went well, the welds are cleaned, and the jet furnace is covered with heat-resistant paint. This will not only give the product a more attractive appearance, but also protect the metal from corrosion.

Outcome

It can be concluded that any of the proposed models is quite easy to make at home. To find necessary materials won't be difficult. The work itself is not very difficult for someone who has used a welding machine more than once and has some experience working with metal. It will take only a few hours to make a rocket furnace. And the resulting product will be useful item for lovers of outdoor activities outside the city.

In addition, such a rocket stove will allow you to heat a small summer cottage and will be a good alternative to a full-fledged heating system. The principle of operation of the Robinson jet furnace allows you to significantly save on fuel.

Such a simple heating device as a rocket stove is not known to every person. Meanwhile, it has few equals in simplicity and efficiency. It cannot be said that it has the best characteristics, but it also has few shortcomings. There are many varieties of these furnaces, differing in design and purpose. We will look at them in more detail as part of our review.

Device and principle of operation

Rocket furnaces have practically nothing to do with the design of rocket engines or jet turbines. On the contrary, they are extremely simple structurally, in contrast to the above devices. The similarity is noticeable only in a quietly noisy flame and high combustion temperature - all this is observed after the stove enters the operating mode.

Consider the device of rocket furnaces - they consist of the following elements:

  • Firebox - a vertical or horizontal area in which firewood burns;
  • Combustion chamber (it is also a flame tube, riser) - here the process of fuel combustion occurs with the release of a large amount of heat;
  • Blower - necessary for the correct operation of the stove and starting the process of burning pyrolysis gases;
  • Thermal insulation - envelops the vertical part, forming a drum together with the body;
  • Bed - used for its intended purpose;
  • Chimney - removes combustion products into the atmosphere, creating traction;
  • The support under ware - provides unhindered exit of heat.

Depending on the type of rocket furnace, certain elements may be missing.

Rocket furnaces with vertical furnaces (fuel bunkers) and blowers have the greatest efficiency and convenience - large volumes of fuel are placed here, which ensures long-term combustion.

The most important part of the rocket furnace is the vertical drum. It is in it that the highest temperature is observed, since flames break out here. In order for it to start working, it must be thoroughly warmed up. Without this, the combustion process will be weak. To warm up, paper, cardboard, small chips or thin branches are placed in the firebox. As soon as the system warms up, the flame in the drum will begin to burn out with a buzz, which is a sign that the operating mode has been reached.

A rocket (jet) stove without a blower burns wood in a direct way. It is simpler, but less efficient. The blower model supplies secondary air to the base of the riser, which causes intense combustion of combustible pyrolysis gases. This increases the efficiency of the unit.

Fireboxes in rocket furnaces are located horizontally or vertically (at any angle). Horizontal fireboxes are not very convenient, since the firewood in them has to be moved to the combustion zone manually, independently. Vertical combustion chambers are more convenient - we load fuel into them and go about our business. As the logs burn, they will fall down, independently moving towards the combustion zone.

Varieties of rocket furnaces

In this section, we will consider the most common types of rocket stoves used in field and stationary conditions.

Simple metal ovens

The simplest wood-fired jet stove is made from an L-shaped piece of large-diameter metal pipe. The horizontal part is short, it is a firebox. The combustion chamber is located in the vertical part of the pipe, firewood is actively burning here. A small metal plate is often welded into the horizontal section, forming a blower. After warming up, the rocket furnace enters the operating mode, a flame bursts out of its vertical section (flame tube).

Such rocket stoves are used for cooking in camping or outdoor conditions - due to their small area, they are characterized by low heat release, and the vast majority of heat energy escapes through the flame tube. Teapots, frying pans and pots are placed on this pipe so that the raging flame ensures their heating. To maintain traction, stands are located in the upper part of the pipe, on which dishes are placed - combustion products can freely go outside.

In order to make a metal rocket furnace from an L-shaped pipe section more efficient, it is equipped with a metal casing made of old barrel. At the bottom of the barrel you can see a blower, and a flame tube peeps out of the top. If necessary, the internal volume is filled with insulation, for example, ash - it does not burn and retains heat well.

The most convenient are metal rocket furnaces with vertical fireboxes located at an angle to the flame tube. Often, the furnace openings are closed with lids; in this case, air is taken through the blower. Sometimes the firebox is made larger in diameter than the flame tube in order to ensure long-term burning.

Simple brick ovens

A small-sized brick rocket stove is another of the easiest options for building a do-it-yourself rocket stove. For its assembly, cement mortar is not required, it is enough to lay the bricks on top of each other to get at your disposal a convenient brick street cooking unit. In the section on self assembly rocket furnaces, we will suggest that you familiarize yourself with the simplest order for self-assembly.

A do-it-yourself brick rocket stove can be used to heat households. In this case, simple ordering is not enough - you will have to build a stationary version using a special cement mortar. There are many orders for this, you just have to choose suitable option. By the way, some variants of such furnaces provide for the presence of a water circuit.

Advantage of brick rocket kilns:

  • Simple construction;
  • Long-term heat retention;
  • The ability to create a comfortable warm couch.

Some models are made combined, they use both steel and bricks.

Complex rocket ovens

A jet stove for heating households or for a bath is characterized by increased complexity. The main link here is still the riser (flame tube), enclosed in a metal case. Its upper part can be used for cooking, forming a kind of cooking surface. The firebox is made large to accommodate an increased amount of solid fuel. The raw materials are metal, bricks and clay.

On the basis of clay coating, streamlined rocket furnaces of irregular shape are made, which is well perceived by human vision.

There are projects of wood-burning rocket stoves that provide for the presence of additional modules. Their construction schemes include small boilers for preparation hot water, hobs, water jackets and even small ovens. Such stoves will help to heat households and create comfortable conditions for human habitation.

Water-jacketed rocket boiler based on wood stove, will help warm up a multi-room building. It is equipped with a water circuit for heating the coolant. Additional convenience is created by samples with stove benches - these stove benches are created on the basis of thermal channels between the flame and chimney pipes.

Types of stoves for different operating conditions

A rocket stove with a water circuit, brick or metal, can replace the boiler. The heat exchanger here is arranged in the upper part of the flame tube in the form of a surrounding water jacket. Jumpers are located inside the jacket for more efficient heat removal to the coolant. The design is extremely simple, it can heat households up to several tens of square meters.

A rocket stove for a garage can be made from an old pot-bellied gas bottle or barrel. To do this, two holes are made in the selected container - one in the top cover, and the other on the side surface. An L-shaped pipe is inserted inside. With little experience with a welding machine, all work will take you a maximum of half an hour.

You can also make an oven of the above-described rocket type from pieces of a square and metal pipe according to the above drawing.

Also, the heating rocket stove "Ognivo-Kozyain" is suitable for heating the garage. This is a shop model made of corrugated aluminum pipe and ordinary sheet iron. It works approximately according to the same scheme and allows you to warm a garage up to 30 square meters. m.

drawings of her in open access not yet, so you can try to assemble the Flint stove with your own hands based on her photo. It can also be purchased from the manufacturer's website.

We have already said that a long-burning rocket stove with a water circuit will be required to heat large households. A small household from one room can be heated with a simple stove with a stove bench - this way you save space on furniture. It consists of the following nodes:

  • Firebox with vertical loading - logs are placed in it;
  • Afterburner - a horizontal section in front of the riser (flame tube), pyrolysis combustion takes place here;
  • Riser with a hob - a vertical section with a metal case that gives off heat to the room;
  • Horizontal channels - they heat the stove bench, after which the combustion products are sent to the chimney.

A rocket stove for heating a house from one room is coated with clay to make a flat and comfortable bed - here you can lay a mattress or a small blanket.

For field use, the simplest rocket-type furnaces are used, made from metal pipes. They are compact, easy to kindle and extinguish, cool quickly and allow you to quickly cook dinner on outdoors. The main thing is not to overdo it with the amount of fuel loaded, so as not to burn the food with a high-temperature flame.

How to increase the efficiency of the stove

Long-burning jet stoves can be made even more efficient with a little tweaking. If the riser (flame tube) is closed with a metal casing, weld vertical pipes of small diameter to the outer surface - they form a convector that effectively heats the air in the premises. This modification method is suitable for metal units used for space heating. technical purpose(for example, garages).

Any metal rocket stove can be made more efficient by lining it with brick or natural stone. The masonry will retain heat and slowly release it into the room. At the same time, it will allow you to get rid of unbearable heat with too intense heating.

How to make a DIY rocket stove

Let's start with the simplest brick sample designed for cooking. Such a stove can be quickly folded in your yard without clay mortar, and disassembled after use. It is also possible to assemble a stationary version - for those who like to cook on an open fire. The picture below shows a drawing of the stove, or rather, its ordering. There are only five rows here.

The first row is the base, which includes six bricks. The second row forms the firebox, and the next three rows form the riser chimney. In the first and second rows, halves of bricks are used so that the stove is rectangular, without protruding elements.

Immediately after assembly, you can start kindling - cook any dishes on fire in cast iron cauldrons and in frying pans, heat kettles and pots of water.

A sheet metal oven can be both a camping and a stationary option. We have already given her drawing in the previous sections of our review. It can be used for cooking in any conditions.

Large rocket stove with bench

The main advantage of the rocket modification over the Russian stove is its compactness. Even being equipped with a couch, it will please you with its small size. Having made it out of brick, you will have at your disposal an effective source of heat with a comfortable bed - the household will fight for the right to occupy this warm place.

The presented ordering allows you to assemble a brick oven without the use of metal. Only the doors will be made of iron. Subsequently, the bricks can be smeared with clay, which will make the stove more rounded.

The first row forms the base of our rocket oven. It consists of 62 bricks laid according to the pattern shown in the figure. The second row forms channels for heating the couch - they run along its entire length. Cast-iron doors are also mounted here, fixed with metal wire - it is held between the rows. The number of bricks used - 44 pcs. The same amount will be required for the third row, completely repeating the contour of the second. The fourth row completely closes the channels that heat the bed. But here a vertical smoke channel and a firebox are already beginning to form - the row includes 59 bricks.

Another 60 is needed for the fifth row. The bed has already been formed, it remains to finish off the chimney channel and build a hob. The sixth row, which includes 17 bricks, is responsible for this. Another 18 are needed for the seventh row, 14 for the eighth.

The ninth and tenth row will require 14 bricks, the eleventh - 13.

Row number 12 is our key one - the chimney will start from here. Also, a hole begins from here, through which the air that has risen to the hob will go down to the bench - 11 bricks are required (this is the top of the riser). In row No. 13, this process is completed, 10 bricks are spent on it. Now we lay the asbestos gasket, which is covered with a piece of thick sheet steel - this will hob.

5 bricks are spent on rows No. 14 and No. 15, they close the chimney channel and form a low wall between the hob and the stove bench.

Similarly, you can assemble a long-burning rocket cauldron by finding the right order. Separate schemes provide for the use of metal nodes.

Video

A simple heating device, which is not much inferior to a potbelly stove in popularity, is a rocket stove. It works on wood, and the design scheme is so simple that it is possible to manufacture it on your own. The stove can also be made economical - many people think that looking like a potbelly stove means the voracity of the combustion chamber, but no. There are schemes that work on smoldering wood (pyrolysis), which means that they are economical with the same efficiency.

Why rocket and why jet

Such a stove is often called a "rocket", but not because the firewood in it burns at a high speed, but because of the shape of the structure - the traditional version of the rocket stove is made from two pieces of iron pipes welded together. The unit resembles a rocket in a child's drawing. The use of a simplified form allows you to make it in less than a day. The adjective “reactive” is also used for the stove, but also not because of the rate of fuel combustion, but because of the characteristics of combustion - at a certain stage of air supply to the firebox, it starts to hum strongly, as if turbocharging of the nozzles in the engine is turned on.

Furnace humming is an inefficient and consumable combustion mode. At normal operation she makes a soft whisper.

Any owner of a country or country house has at least a minimal set of carpentry, plumbing and automotive repair tools in his workshop. It is they who will help in the manufacture of a miracle rocket, plus blueprints and a minimum supply of materials: pipes or metal boxes, a sheet of iron and - in the construction of a stationary version - brick and mortar on clay. Now it becomes clear that the jet stove is made portable or stationary, for example, for heating a house or a bath.

If a stationary jet stove will heat the house, then it is located along outer wall. Properly designed and equipped, it can heat a house up to 50m2. Also, the oven is installed in an open area - on personal plot, and used as summer version for cooking food.

How does a rocket stove work?

The device is the simplest - two principles of fuel combustion borrowed from other furnaces:

  1. The natural circulation of hot gases and smoke through the channels of the stove is a standard solution, as in a potbelly stove.
  2. Afterburning of unburned gases (pyrolysis) with limited access of oxygen to the combustion chamber.

The scheme of the simplest jet stove, which is intended only for cooking, uses the natural combustion of firewood - in an open chamber it is impossible to create conditions for maintaining the pyrolysis reaction and afterburning unburned gases.

Let's consider a simple design of a direct burning rocket stove, which is traditionally installed in the yard in an open area. It can quickly heat water or cook dinner for the family on vacation. From the figure below, it becomes clear that such a sample will require two pieces of a cylindrical or rectangular iron pipe, which are interconnected by welding at an angle of 90 0.

A horizontal segment of a metal box acts as a combustion chamber - firewood is laid there. Also, fuel loading can be organized vertically - add a vertical iron cylinder on top of a horizontal pipe for loading firewood. Thus, a structure of three pipes or boxes will be obtained, the lowest of which (horizontal) will work as a firebox. In a stationary scheme, the simplest stove design often uses red brick, which is placed on clay mortar.

The efficiency of the design cannot be called satisfactory, so the craftsmen figured out how to increase the efficiency of its work. An additional element is another pipe of a larger diameter (as you can see, all materials are available and cheap), into which the main pipe of the riser stove (primary chimney) is installed. This increases the overall heating and the duration of heat retention.

On the diagram:

  1. Outer body.
  2. A pipe that serves as a firebox.
  3. Channel for air outlet to the combustion chamber.
  4. Insulated area between hull and riser. The same ash can serve as a heater.

How to heat

The Robinson jet stove is heated according to the principle of kindling a fire - paper, hay, straw or other quickly flammable material is laid first, then small chips or large chips. The last logs are laid in the size of the firebox. Hot combustion products rise along the vertical pipe (2) and go outside. On the open end of the pipe (2) you can put a pot or a tank of water.

In order for the fuel to burn continuously and actively, it is necessary to provide a gap between the outlet pipe (2) and a pot of water using a special lattice metal stand.

The diagram below shows a simple device with a door on the fuel loading hole. Air draft is formed due to the presence of a special channel formed bottom surface firebox and an iron plate welded 8-10 mm from the combustion chamber. This design will forcibly pump air even if the door closes completely. It can be seen from the diagram that the design is also designed for operation in the pyrolysis mode, while a constant flow of a “secondary” air jet will burn out the exhaust gases. But in order for the afterburning to take place at 100%, it is necessary to equip the thermal insulation of the secondary chamber in which the gas burns out in order to provide the necessary temperature indicators for pyrolysis.

On the diagram:

  1. Forced channel for blowing air with the furnace door closed.
  2. Area of active combustion.
  3. burnt gases.

The improved scheme provides not only the possibility of heating the surrounding space, but also cooking, for which the upper hob is designed. Total: to yourself simple option"rockets" can be added outer case, which will additionally heat the room, the furnace door, blowing air to maintain the pyrolysis mode and the stove for cooking food. This scheme can already be implemented in the house itself, and not in the yard, since the chimney pipe is brought out. Such a minor upgrade significantly increases the efficiency of the model. So, a do-it-yourself rocket stove, the drawings of which are presented below, has the following capabilities:

  1. Due to the embedding of the outer casing from a larger diameter pipe and its insulation, which creates a thermal insulation layer for the riser, as well as the ability to hermetically close the top pipe hot air cool down much longer.
  2. A separate blowing channel has been added in the lower section of the stove, which allows organizing pyrolysis combustion.
  3. The chimney in such a scheme is recommended to be placed not vertically at the top, but from the bottom at the back of the case, which will allow organizing additional circulation of hot streams through the internal channels of the stove, ensuring rapid heating of the hob and the entire insulated case.

In the firebox (1), the fuel does not burn completely (2), since the air supply is not carried out in full, this is the “A” mode, which can be controlled using the damper (3). Hot, but not burnt out from pyrolysis, gases are fed into the end section of the fire channel (5), in which they are burned. Afterburning provides high-quality thermal insulation and a constant flow of "secondary" air in the "B" mode through the channel (4).

The hot stream then enters the inner riser (7), rises up to the cooking plate (10) and heats it up. Further, hot air enters the volume (6) between the outer and inner pipes, insulated with a layer of ash (4, 9), heats the furnace body, which gives off heat to the room. Finally, the cooled air descends to enter the chimney (11) and exit.

Consistently high temperature in the riser (7) provides maximum heat transfer and creates conditions for complete combustion of gases due to the placement of the riser in the pipe bigger size– shell (8). The free space is filled with ash or other heat-resistant substance (9) for lining - it can also be a solution of ordinary clay with sand in proportions of 1:3.

The palm of popularity belongs to the industrial model "Robinson" - it is simple, but robust design. Having such a mobile stove, you can quickly cook food or heat water in the country or on a hike. Structurally, this is an inverted L-shaped pipe, as shown in the diagrams below.

Firewood is laid in the horizontal section of the fuel receiver, and ignition is carried out from the side from which the vertical pipe enters. In the L-shaped pipe, due to the pressure difference between hot and cold air, draft arises, and the intensity of combustion will only increase as the furnace body heats up. The air supply is controlled by a damper.

The furnace works on the principle of energy consumption of the natural flow of hot gases. It turns out a closed cycle: as the temperature rises, the fuel begins to burn more actively and the chamber and hob heat up faster. As a result, "Robinson" is able to heat 10 liters of water in 10 minutes, if you put the tank on an already warm surface. The diagram shows that the hob in the "Robinson" has a thick heat-insulating layer, which allows you to put large diameter chocks into the firebox.

Stationary oven

Stationary models have a cap to keep the heat in the room longer. In such a stove, fuel combustion occurs according to a different scenario. The beginning of the process of burning wood is the same - the air supply is limited. This causes the release of pyrolysis gases, which are afterburned in the lower section of the vertical pipe or duct, where the secondary air is supplied separately.

The hot gas, once at the top, begins to cool and descends into the free inter-chamber volume, and then into the chimney. It happens like this:

  1. Gravitational forces cause the colder, and therefore heavier, burnt gases to rush down, where they enter the chimney.
  2. This is facilitated by the constantly maintained pressure from the firewood and the consistently high temperature of the gases.
  3. Natural draft in the chimney.

All this creates effective conditions for burning firewood and it becomes possible to attach a smoke channel with arbitrary geometry to the “rocket”. Basically, long and complex chimneys are needed in order to better heat the room.

The main disadvantage of all solid fuel stoves is the inability to keep most of the heat in the house. But positive qualities allow leveling negative points– high speed of gas outlet allows organizing complex vertical or horizontal chimneys with several channels. The implementation of this principle in practice is the Russian stove. In a jet furnace with a horizontal multi-channel chimney, it is also possible to equip a warm bench, as shown in the diagram below.

A jet rocket stove is a variant of home heating, which is cheaper only for nothing. A person familiar with the basics of construction can fold a combined brick oven in a design suitable for any home interior. The main task of ennobling the appearance will be decorating the iron cap and the lid of the firebox - everything else will not be visible.

Combined brick-metal barrel oven

It is stationary, because the structure cannot be moved. A fuel chamber and a chimney are laid out of fireclay bricks, valves and doors are made of metal. The brick gives off heat very slowly, so the room will be warmed for a long time.

High efficiency is not the strong point of such models, but good heat transfer can be achieved by adjusting the air supply to the chamber, without trying to enter the combustion mode, in which the stove begins to “roar” and “buzz”.

In order to somehow minimize heat losses during the operation of this the simplest design, many craftsmen build a water circuit into the oven and connect a hot water tank. Also, the construction of a stove bench with a multi-channel horizontal chimney contributes to the preservation of heat in the room. Negative qualities of "rocket" models that cannot be minimized or removed:

  1. It is necessary to constantly monitor and adjust the thrust - there are no automation devices.
  2. Every 2-3 hours you need to load a new portion of firewood.
  3. The iron cap heats up to dangerous temperatures.

The simplest and cheap option- model "Robinson", which is in the drawing below. For its manufacture, you need trimming pipes or a rectangular profile box, metal corners for legs, welding machine. Its dimensions are selected based on the dimensions of the blanks. The main thing is to adhere to the principle of action, not size.

For a home-made design, gas cylinders or barrels of 200 liters are often taken - thick walls and suitable size as close as possible to what was intended. Both those and others are used to make the outer case, and the internal elements are made from pipes of a smaller diameter or are brought out with bricks - halves, quarters or whole.

There is no general formula for calculating heat transfer for all models of a rocket stove, so the option of using ready-made calculations based on the principle of similarity of circuits is quite suitable. The main thing is that the size of the future "rocket" should at least approximately correspond to the volume of the heated room. For example, a gas cylinder will do for a garage, a two-hundred-liter barrel for a country house. An approximate selection of internal elements is shown in the diagram below.

Iron bottle stove

  1. Cylinder - gas, oxygen, from under carbon dioxide.
  2. Pipe ≥ 150 mm for fuel and loading chambers.
  3. Pipes 70 and 150 mm - for an internal vertical chimney.
  4. Pipes 150 mm - for the outlet chimney.
  5. Insulation of any type, necessarily non-combustible.
  6. Sheet metal blanks H = 3 mm.

The upper part of the cylinder is cut off by welding. For safety reasons, it is better to open the stopcock on it and fill it with water before cutting. From the sides, you need to cut openings for the fuel chamber and chimney. The pipe for the firebox is connected to the vertical pipe of the chimney channel from the bottom of the cylinder.

After mounting the internal elements, the cut top is welded back. The seams are checked visually, the main chimney is connected. If there is a water circuit, it also joins. After that, the rocket oven can be tested.

Sufficient draft is provided by the height of the chimney - it must be raised above the firebox by at least 4 meters.

How to lay out a brick firebox

Such a model requires the use of only fireclay (clay) bricks - ceramic or silicate will immediately crack. Masonry is carried out on clay mortar, the proportions of the composition are indicated above. A pit is dug under the base of the stove, the soil at the bottom is rammed and poured with concrete. The size of the foundation is 1200x400x100 mm.

After the base has hardened, it is protected with a sheet of basalt cardboard, then they begin to lay out the firebox, vertical chimney and loading chamber. A door for ash removal is attached to the front of the firebox. After the clay mortar dries, the trench is filled up, a pipe of the desired diameter is inserted into the vertical chimney. The cavities between the brick and the pipe should be filled with insulation - basalt wool, ash or other non-flammable material such as asbestos.

Now a cap Ø 600 mm is placed on the masonry - a cut-out cover from metal barrel. Before installation, a hole is cut out in it, into which the pipe for the chimney is inserted. Putting on this cap, the barrel should be turned over, and the nozzle will be where it is needed. Then the chimney is brought out - either directly to the street, or through the arrangement of a lounger with horizontal chimney channels. The sunbed can be laid out as usual silicate brick, since the temperature of the gases will be already low.

The rocket stove is popular option when it comes to creating a do-it-yourself unit that can heat a room or become like a stove in field conditions. Drawings and diagrams of a similar design should be available to people who love tourism.

Collapse

It is not difficult to create a stove with your own hands - it will take a little time, suitable tools, materials that are resistant to open fire and strong heat. Such a stove has several features, differences that make the stove a profitable option for manufacturing.

A stationary camping rocket stove is installed as indoors (cottages, country houses) along the wall, and on a special platform, including in open space. Suitable for high-quality heating of a room with an area of 45-50 m2 (taking into account the presence / absence of partitions, walls, individual rooms, ceiling height).

About design

The Robinson Rocket Furnace consists of the following elements:

  • Fuel tank.
  • A pipe for the removal of the resulting smoke.

Design feature - the fuel bunker is located not only vertically, but also horizontally, at an angle. The method of placement depends on the desire of the person, the features of the structure in which the finished furnace will be installed.

It looks like a rocket stove from a pipe

It can also be used such an option in which the fuel hopper will be located between the chimney and two elements horizontal section pipes. This is done in order to lengthen the surface heated during the combustion of fuel, thereby increasing the efficiency and heating time of the room.

The usual schemes for creating furnaces are:

  • A firebox located vertically and connected to the chimney by a piece of pipe (its length may be different). The section connecting the elements is used for cooking (hob).
  • A firebox located directly next to the pipe (the scheme is used when the furnace must act as a heating unit).
  • A firebox fixed at an angle to the pipe (for the convenience of laying fuel in a special compartment).

The stove can have two fireboxes at once. Feature - their location on the sides of the structure in a vertical position. Pipes should be with a large section size. The purpose of the furnace is to heat a container with liquid, which is installed on a special stand (this option is used to supply hot water).

Design options

General principle of operation

The principle of operation of all types of construction - rockets is approximately the same:

  • Solid fuel (firewood) is put into the furnace.
  • Ignition is in progress.
  • In the process of heating under the action of a flame and combustion, gases are produced.
  • Their movement along the vertical section of the pipe begins.
  • The supply is provided by a special channel through which the “secondary air”, which is already heated, quickly moves.
  • The heated gases rise to the base of the tube.

The basic principle of operation is similar to pyrolysis boilers. As a result, the maximum possible temperature is reached at the exit from the furnace, in the upper part of the structure. It is also used for heating, heating water, cooking. For convenience, you can make a special platform for placing containers by attaching it to the top of the pipe.

A big and significant advantage for the user of a rocket stove is its efficiency - firewood, as well as other types of solid fuels, are consumed little, Efficiency is high(about 65%). In order to improve the quality of functioning, it is enough to throw sawdust, paper, branches or dry grass into the firebox.

The simplest version of the rocket furnace

A simple rocket-type camp stove is distinguished by ease of self-production, saving time and resources during use, compact size and dimensions. All work will take 2-3 hours to prepare tools and materials, which is very convenient in a hike or summer cottage.

A design feature that must be taken into account is that the lower part of the unit, which acts as the bottom of the fuel chamber (grate), must be made movable. This is done to facilitate the process of laying firewood and loading them into the furnace bunker.

If chips are used, then the sliding structural element is a convenient stand in the process of laying fuel in the furnace. Additionally, the movable part greatly facilitates the process of cleaning the unit from ash.

Preparation of materials

To make a rocket furnace, you will need to purchase:

  • A pipe with a square section (15 cm × 15 cm × 3, 40.5 cm) - 1 pc.
  • pipe also square shape(optimally choose 15cm × 15cm × 3.30 cm) - 1 pc.
  • Steel strip (recommended dimensions 30cm × 5cm × 3 mm) - you need to buy 4 pieces of such elements.
  • Another version of a steel strip (with ideal parameters for work 14cm × 5cm × 3 mm) - 2 pcs.
  • Lattice, also made of good metal(steel) (choose dimensions 30cm × 14cm) - 1 piece.

Additionally, you will need to buy a steel bar (3: 5 mm) - 2.5 meters in order to make the grate yourself if desired. A high-quality do-it-yourself Robinson oven is a minimal cost of finance, a little attention and time.

Instruments

For all necessary work you will need:

  • Bulgarian.
  • Welding.
  • Metal scissors.

Drawing

Work is carried out according to the scheme and drawing indicated below:

Drawing of the simplest rocket furnace from a profile pipe

Manufacturing instructions

All work on the creation of a heating device should be carried out in stages. The guide to action consists of several steps that must be followed sequentially:

  • Square pipes must be cut into blanks of the size required according to the drawing.
  • Make markings on them, taking into account the fact that one of their edges will need to be cut off (the cut angle is 45 degrees). The work is done by a Bulgarian.
  • The resulting pipes will need to be carefully welded - the result should be a design that resembles a boot in shape.

When making a Robinson oven with your own hands and using drawings, it is important to follow the recommendations on the dimensions of the parts that are contained there. The next steps will be:

  • Cuts are made (on top of the pipe or on its sides) - the dimensions are 20 mm deep and 3.5 mm wide (a stand for installing containers will be installed in them).
  • A steel strip (which has parameters of 30cm × 5cm × 3 mm) 1 piece from the purchased ones must be cut exactly in half.
  • Mark the second remaining strip of steel (also with parameters 30cm × 5cm × 3 mm) exactly in the middle.
  • Weld to it for high-quality performance of all stages of work, elements on both sides of the cut strip (a cruciform shape should be obtained).
  • Steel strips (dimensions to be chosen 30cm × 5cm × 3 mm) - the remaining 2 pieces and the remaining pieces 14 cm long, a frame is welded that will be retractable.
  • The elements are not welded side by side, but overlapped.

On top of the already finished frame, using a spot welding machine, a finished grate (purchased additionally / specially) or parts of a good steel rod cut to the desired length are attached. The distance at which the parts are attached is 1 cm. Then, a stand is installed on top of the pipe, the grate is pushed into the furnace hopper. The main work on the production of the furnace can be considered completed.

Now comes the stage of verification and test behavior. It is required to put a little solid fuel into the furnace and melt the furnace, if there are no problems in its operation, you need to wait until all structural elements have cooled completely. Finally, the furnace can be painted to protect the parts from corrosion. For this, heat-resistant paint is used. You can increase the comfort of operation by welding a handle to the combustion chamber door.

Drawing

Do-it-yourself Robinson camp stove is assembled according to the following drawing:

Drawing of the Robinson furnace

Step-by-step instruction

All major work will require accuracy, attention, but will not take much time - about 3 hours with preparation. The main actions involve the following steps:

  • Preparation of a plate that will separate the firebox from the blower in the finished structure - you will need to weld pieces of reinforcement to it (a distance of 1 cm from each element) - as a result, you get a grate.
  • For convenience, a grate is attached to the plate available among the materials for manufacturing, after which, using a welding machine, you need to securely attach the received element to the side and back wall future furnace. Feature of the work: before starting welding, you need to step back from the bottom along the edge of 30 cm.
  • The next step in the work is welding the corner elements of the joints of the rear and side walls of the combustion chamber.
  • Then the bottom of the chamber is welded.

After these stages, you should proceed to the final steps. Here, actions such as attaching nuts are performed, which are needed to make the oven stand stably. Further, legs are attached to them, if desired. Then the actions are:

  • The firebox cover, if it is provided for by the selected drawing option, is attached to the body (welding is used).
  • The next step is marking the pipe (for this purpose, you will need to use a bright metal marker).
  • After that, a cut is made at an angle of 30 0 (a regular oval is obtained in outline).
  • Each of the mandatory pipes from the set of materials must be attached with an oval-shaped hole exactly to the middle of the roof of the structure.
  • You will need to circle the pipe (with a marker).
  • The resulting pattern is needed in order to cut a hole along its contour (work is carried out using welding, the voltage may need to be increased).
  • Then a pipe is welded into the resulting hole, it must be placed vertically according to the scheme.

At the end, the legs are attached (optional), the first test run is carried out (with a minimum of a solid fuel element). If you want to paint the structure, then before that you need to completely cool the entire structure.

Finished homemade oven "Robinson"

Design improvement

A convenient do-it-yourself Robinson camp stove assembled according to the scheme can be improved.

The first thing that can be done is to weld a door with a handle to the main structure in order to be able to control the amount of heat generated or the amount of firewood in the firebox. It will not open to the side, but up.

The best option is to make a damper that will open in several positions:

  • down or left;
  • then to the right.

Such a damper must be installed in the corners welded in advance on the walls, the dimensions are selected 1X1 cm or, as an option, to increase -1.5 cmX1.5 cm.

Additional ways to improve the Robinson furnace - increasing the thickness of steel for the combustion chamber with 3 to 5 mm.

For a section where labor passes vertically, a square rather than an oval hole can be used.

The stand and legs can be made from various materials using the most convenient options.

The last thing you can do is weld a wide metal plate to the firebox or attach metal corners to the pipe to put a water container on them. This way you get a rocket stove with a hob.

Rocket stove with hob

Antoshka oven

This popular version of the tourist-camping type of stove will require a little more time for independent production. The rocket stove of the Antoshka model is distinguished by its convenient design. A feature of this type of furnace is the presence of an additional plane heated during the operation of the unit.

It is also a stand for a container (hob) and an amplifier for heating the room. Consequently, the Antoshka stove can be used to provide hot water to a country house or a tourist camp.

Antoshka oven

materials

In order to make the stove yourself, you need to purchase the following set of materials:

  • Square pipes (with material parameters of 15 cm × 15 cm × 3 mm. The length is also taken into account, which in this option should be 40.5 cm) - 1 pc and (15 cm × 15 cm × 3 mm, also the length of the element is 18 cm) - 1 pc and (10 cm × 10 cm × 3 mm, with a product length of 60.5 cm) - 1 pc.
  • Plate metal / steel (30cm × 15cm × 3 mm) - 1 pc.
  • The plate is also made of good, heat-resistant metal (the parameters should be as follows - 15cm × 15cm × 3 mm) -1 pc.
  • High-quality metal corner (5 cm × 5 cm × 3, length 30 cm) - 1 pc.
  • Larger metal corner (5cm × 5cm × 3, length 40.5 cm) - 1 pc.

Additionally, reinforcement / rod with a diameter of 8 mm is required, the length of the material in this embodiment is 30 cm - such rods will need to be purchased 4 pcs.

To make a grate with your own efforts, you will need reinforcement with a diameter of 8 mm, its length is 17 cm - 8 pieces. It is important not to forget to purchase triangular metal scarves that you will need to use to install the hob, the steel in them should be 3 mm - 2 pieces.

Instruments

To carry out all the necessary work, you will need, as in the previous version:

  • Bulgarian.
  • Welding (for reliable fastening of all elements).
  • Marker.
  • Scissors for metal (for working with small elements).

You also need to have protective goggles and gloves.

Manufacturing steps

To make the Antoshka oven, you will need to do:

  • Mark the pipe available in the materials (place it vertically).
  • Then make neat cuts on it, performing them at an angle of 30 0.
  • Cut a hole in the back of the pipe intended for the firebox, the size of which is 12 × 10 cm.

Second part of work:

  • At the bottom of the element, it is also important not to forget to cut a hole, the size of which will increase slightly and will be 15 × 15 cm according to the drawing.
  • Next, you need to connect these two elements.
  • The rear wall of the firebox must be welded with a plate prepared in advance for this, made of fire-resistant and high-quality steel.

After that, segments of metal rods must be welded to the lower hole of the Robinson rocket furnace variation from the outside. The distance at which the work is carried out is 1-1.2 cm. Further work involves the following actions:

  • For the manufacture of such a part of the heating unit as the blowing chamber (air intake), a segment of 18 cm in size is used, which is part of a square pipe. Without it, the operation of the furnace as a whole is not allowed for safety reasons.
  • It needs to be cut at an angle of 30 0 (as a result, the size of this part of the structure is 10 × 18 cm).

The resulting part should have a bottom and two walls. It is best to put it on stands - this is how comfort is achieved for subsequent work. They are made of metal corners, attached by welding to the bottom of the structure.

  • The furnace of the future furnace (upper hole) - the pipe available in the material package is welded to it or otherwise attached (if there is no welding). It is important to fix it in a strictly vertical position. It is important to remember here that maximum accuracy is required.
  • Triangular-shaped products made of metal (it’s better not to save on quality here) must be placed on edge, which will increase the stability of this part of the structure to create the necessary combination of elements.
  • Then they are welded / attached to the pipe and additionally to the top of the structure.
  • The creation of the unit continues by welding a plate measuring 3 dm × 1.5 dm × 3 mm to the edge of the furnace hole, which is located at the top (front in relation to the master doing the work).

The final part of the creation: you need to weld corners to the top of a vertically located pipe - this will be a stand on which a container is installed for cooking or heating food. The reinforcement must be bent (90 0 - semicircle), the resulting corners are welded to the pipe on four sides at a distance of 30 cm from each other.

Output

Robinson oven has various options for the manufacture of. It's not only a good option for heating a small house or a tent camp in a camping trip, but also a real hob that can provide hot food. Additionally, using a DIY Robinson stove, which has a mount for a water tank, you can provide hot water.
