How to make a container of water from tires. Do-it-yourself reservoirs from tires: we create a pond, pool or fountain in the country

The pool in the country is gradually becoming an indispensable part of the interior and an essential condition for a comfortable stay. It's so great sometimes to plunge into cool water after putting things in order in the beds and in the garden!

A tire pool can be a great alternative to an inflatable pool in the country, as it is more reliable and durable.

If you like to do it yourself, we offer a practical and low-cost option - a tire pool.

This design can last much longer than an inflatable pool, which must be handled very carefully. And if you also connect all family members to the creation process, then this lesson will be very entertaining.

How to create a home pool from a tractor wheel?

In order to equip your site with a small pool, you will need the following accessories:

  • a large wheel, for example from a tractor or KamAZ;
  • sand and gravel;
  • cement;
  • sharp large knife or jigsaw.

So, let's start creating a pool from a wheel:

  1. It all starts with tire processing. It is necessary to cut one of the sides so that the end result is only a side. In order to cut the cord, you can use a hacksaw. It is not recommended to use a grinder, since during its operation the rubber will not only fly apart, but will also become very sticky, and it will be extremely difficult to get rid of it.
  2. The next step is to install the pool. To build a fixed pool, you need to prepare a site for it. First, the turf is removed on the bayonet, equal in area to the tire. If you plan to make a concrete path to the pool, then you should increase the perimeter, as you will need to increase the fill radius. After that, a small sand cushion is made.
  3. The next step is concreting. Need to knead cement mortar, which will fill the prepared circle. A tire is installed in the concrete that has not yet hardened. The next step is to level the cement. Looking into the tire, where the rim was previously, you need to pay attention to whether the solution goes beyond the edges or not. If not, then you need to add a couple more buckets of cement. This is done in order to create tightness.

After that, level the bottom and leave the structure to dry. To protect the future pool from possible bad weather, you can cover it with a film. If the structure is erected on a sunny site, due to exposure to sunlight, moisture will evaporate and settle on the surface of the tent. Therefore, from time to time, the protection should be removed and the space ventilated so that the cement dries efficiently.

Once the bottom is dry, you can start decorating the pool. We will leave this item free for your imagination.

Thus, the construction of a pool from a tire will take no more than an hour.

In order for the pool to serve its owners with benefit, you should pay attention to a few recommendations of homemade masters:

  1. If desired, you can create a transportable pool. For this purpose, a plywood circle is cut out under the existing tire, two medium-length bolts are screwed into it in the place where the rim will be. They will serve as a mount for the cement plug. After that, a tire is laid on the workpiece and poured with cement. After it dries, the pool is ready for use. Transportation will be easier if the legs are adjusted to the bottom of the structure.
  2. For stationary pools, it is better to choose a place as dry as possible. Otherwise, before creating a sand cushion, it is necessary to lay a layer of gravel, while the cement layer will be slightly increased. If this is neglected, cracks will appear in the cement base very soon and the water will not hold for a long time.
  3. It is better to paint the tire before pouring. But keep in mind that water heats up much faster in black tires, as this color attracts heat well.

As for changing the water, this issue should be addressed even before you pour the concrete. You can install the valve with two washers and a lock nut. Such a device will not leak, as the compressed rubber provides tightness.

It is advisable to change the water in the pool every 2-3 days. This will reduce the risk of contracting any infection.

The decorative tire pool is not intended for swimming, but it decorates the interior of the garden.

At your dacha, you can also create a decorative pool, which will play the role of a small pond. In addition to stones and algae, you can launch several fish into it.

For such purposes, you can also use a large tire from large vehicles. You will need gravel, concrete-cement mortar, bitumen or ordinary film, vegetable soil.

The process has the following sequence:

  1. First of all, you should prepare a pit. Its diameter should be 20-30 cm larger than the existing tire, and the depth of the pit should be equal to 2/3 of its width. The base bottom should be well leveled.
  2. Then a layer of gravel is poured to the bottom and carefully compacted, after which it is concreted.
  3. After that, the bitumen is melted and the bottom is poured with it until the substance reaches the tire bead. Thus, waterproofing is created. Instead of bitumen, you can cover the bottom with a film. It must be carefully straightened along the bottom, and the edges bent outward.
  4. The space that forms between the tire and the walls of the pit must be tightly covered with soil and this piece of land must be compressed.

If there is a desire to increase the area of \u200b\u200bsuch a pond, then you can also remove the upper part of the tire, which is bent inward.

Such a decorative pool is decorated with stones, flowers and other garden attributes. Now you can fill in the water and run the fish.

This decoration will look great on small plot, and over a large area. But the main thing is to remember that even such small reservoirs require care. Therefore, the water must be periodically changed, and the bottom of the pool cleaned.

Creating a pool or ornamental pond from a tire will not only take you a little time, but it will also bring great pleasure from the fact that you made it yourself.

Friends! I am glad once again to present you the work of Nadezhda Leshchuk from the Tula region. Nadia has already sent us wonderful works that our readers have already appreciated. Her advice, by or at the hacienda, is popular. And today, the contestant will talk about how what can be done with old tires. To her work, Nadia attached advice on how to cut a wheel with an ordinary sickle.

What can be done from car tires.

Now the decoration of garden plots with the help of old wheels that have served their time has come into fashion. Many different cuts are made from them. garden crafts, sculptures, make flower beds. But cutting a tire is far from an easy task, requiring enormous physical strength, often male. The woman herself, well, not quite under the force. I suggest you pick up an ordinary sickle, it (what a surprise!) Is also sold in all garden stores. Five minutes - and a huge wheel turns ....

Yes, do not forget to cement the wheel base

And if you paint the tire, then the mini-pool is ready, and the watering of the plants is provided, and there is no need to buy barrels.

How to cut a tire

Important!!! It is necessary to observe safety precautions: it is necessary to cut off the sharp end of the sickle with a grinder and round it off.

Then, mark the desired borders on the wheel with a marker. Pierce the wheel with a large knife. Pick up a sickle, insert it into the hole and calmly cut out the desired segments.

Hope uses old tire, as a water container that can be used for irrigation. But, if you pour fertile soil inside a car tire and plant flowers, you get a wonderful flower bed. And what do you think?

I remind you that the contest "To Your Own Summer Resident" continues. Each of you has a great chance to show off your success in crop production and receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor. Read the details and terms of participation.

With you were the participant of the competition Nadezhda Leshchuk and the author of the blog Zhurbenko Olga

Desire to add urban comfort to country life encourages many summer residents, and owners of suburban real estate, to engage in the arrangement of water supply in their own area. But the full-fledged operation of the water supply system is impossible without sewerage, right?

It turns out to make autonomous sewerage you can do it yourself from improvised materials. One of the most popular makeshift structures is a tire drain pit used to collect and filter wastewater. The device and installation of the structure are very simple, but the efficiency and safety of the system operation is achieved only with strict observance of technological standards.

In this material, we will talk about how to choose a place for a cesspool, and what needs to be considered. Also, here you will find step by step instructions for construction cesspool from car tires. The material is accompanied by arrangement diagrams and videos with expert advice on the construction of drain pits.

Cesspool - the simplest option arrangement. With the advent of highly efficient septic tanks and local treatment systems, the use of drain collectors in private households and cottage villages has decreased. However, among summer residents this method of wastewater disposal remains in demand.

The most budgetary and easy-to-execute local sewage system is based on the use of old tires. In this case, the walls of the drain collector are reinforced with rubber tires, the bottom of the tank is missing.

There are two organization options drain pit: 1 - an absorbing well without a bottom, designed for the processing and disposal of gray drains and clarified water that has been treated in a septic tank, 2 - a sealed storage tank arranged to collect mixed or brown waste masses. Both methods are simple and easy to implement.

The basis of the absorbing, or otherwise filtering option is a drainage layer of crushed stone and sand. The stability of the structure is achieved due to the weight of the tires themselves, the earth filling and the accumulated wastewater.

In the upper part of the "tower" of tires, a sewer pipeline is provided. The entire structure is covered with a lid that prevents the spread bad smell and clogging the pit

The principle of operation of the absorbing pit:

  1. Waste liquid enters the tank through the pipe.
  2. Heavy, solid suspensions settle on the surface of the "cushion" of crushed stone.
  3. Semi-purified water seeps through the drainage layer and goes deep into the soil.
  4. The accumulated sludge is periodically pumped out of the tank.

To improve the quality of filtration and accelerate the drainage of effluents, a hollow perforated pipe is installed inside the tire tank.

Stage #4. earthworks

One of the tires is used as a template for marking the boundaries of the pit. The tire must be put in the chosen place and pegs should be set along the perimeter of the circle. In order for the tires to fit freely into the pit in the future, the diameter of the ring must be expanded by 20-40 cm.

At first, it is convenient to dig the earth with a bayonet shovel. A fertile soil layer (the first 50 cm) can be evenly distributed throughout the garden, deeper earthen layers can be used for backfilling.

It is easier to continue digging a deep pit with a shovel with a long handle - the compacted soil is loosened by a "digger", then it is collected with a shovel and loaded into buckets. To descend into the ditch and lift the filled containers to the surface, a ladder is lowered into the working.

Working together, the digging process can be accelerated and a primitive lifting mechanism- tie a rope to the buckets.

The pit is further deepened by the thickness of the drainage cushion (20-30 cm). The walls of the pit are freed from the roots of the trees so that as they grow, they do not damage or move the tires

For safety reasons, land work at depth should be carried out with a partner. One person is engaged in digging, and the second helps on the surface and insures against the collapse of the walls of the pit. This requirement is especially relevant when arranging a pit in unstable soils.

Stage #5. Procurement of car tires

Regarding the technology of preparing tires for a cesspool, the opinions of the performers were divided. The first group believes that it is not necessary to do any manipulations with the tires, since the complete or partial removal of the tread will adversely affect the stability of the segments and the tightness of the structure as a whole.

However, the preservation of tire bead impairs the operation of the absorbing pit - the useful volume of the tank is significantly reduced, and waste accumulates very quickly in the formed "pockets". At the same time, it is almost impossible to clean the sludge from the relief walls with high quality - the tank quickly overflows with sewage, and the sewage system fails.

The optimal solution is a partial cut of the rim. On wheels, side ends of 5-7 cm should be left for fixing with adjacent segments

In one tire, you need to cut a hole for connecting a sewer pipe.

Stage #6. Formation of a drainage well

At depth, very often the soil is heavy, clayey, poorly absorbent and permeable to moisture. To increase the suction area of the waste liquid and improve the efficiency of the absorbing trench, one or more drainage channels are installed.

Work progress:

  1. Drill the deepest well with a garden drill - the channel must pass through dense rocks that slow down the outflow of filtered water. The depth of the trench from the bottom of the pit is up to 3-5 m.
  2. Prepare a pipe corresponding to the length and diameter of the drainage channel. To prevent the filtration pipe from silting up, its upper edge must be 1 m higher than the base of the drain pit.
  3. The side walls of the pipe, starting from the top and not reaching 50 cm to the bottom, are drilled. The top of the channel is closed with a fine mesh polypropylene mesh.

After casing the drainage well, i.e. installation in a drilled shaft of a perforated pipe, a layer of crushed stone and gravel is poured onto the bottom of the pit - the thickness of the filter pad is about 20-30 cm.

As an output channel, you can use a sewer plastic pipe 110 mm in diameter. A more affordable alternative - asbestos-cement pipe

Stage #7. Tire laying and wall sealing

The first tire is placed at the bottom of a kind of mine, passing through it. Similarly, the second tire is lowered into the pit, and the sides of adjacent wheels are connected in a convenient way.

Having compared and aligned both tires, it is necessary to make through holes in the treads. Pass a metal wire or plastic tie through them, and twist tightly.

During the construction of the tower, the external joints are sealed - the joints of the tires are treated with concrete mortar or bituminous mastic. After setting the mixture, you can start backfilling the pit.

Fixation and strengthening of the walls of the tank from tires in the ground is carried out different ways: backfilling with a sand-earth mixture, pouring concrete or filling the space with the remaining tires. Vertically laid tires will immobilize the structure

The end of the last tire should rise slightly above the ground. At the end of the laying of all tires, the walls of the tank are covered from the inside with a waterproofing material. The most affordable option for a hydrobarrier is a suitable sealant.

There may be such a situation when there are not enough water tanks on the site. But for a do-it-yourselfer, this is not a problem. For example, based on homemade barrels from car tires you can create a whole irrigation system.

Barrels are made in the following way. From a steel sheet, you need to cut a round bottom according to the size of the existing tires (it is better to use tires from trucks) and drill 06 mm holes for the bolts along its edge with an interval of 80-100 mm. Having cut off the inner edges with thickenings, connect the tires to each other (best with bolts and nuts), and the bottom one to the bottom. Lubricate the joints with hot tar. Washers, preferably oblong in shape (for example, from a thin metal strip with a hole), are placed under the bolt heads and under the nuts to ensure a sufficient contact area (Fig. 50, a).

To drain the water, you can simply insert a regular water tap into the bottom tire and fix it from the inside with a nut through a washer. You may need to carefully cut off the protector at the attachment point. Instead of a faucet, you can use a 0% pipe pipe in the same way, using nuts with washers on both sides. With their help, several barrels mounted on a metal angle stand can be connected to each other. The height of the stand should allow you to freely place a bucket under the faucet.

Worn tires, especially from heavy wheeled tractors, can also be used singly. This is an excellent, in fact, free and almost eternal reservoir for warm water. You don't even need to make a special bottom for it. First, make a pillow of sand or small (up to 5 mm) gravel at the location of the tire. Cover it with plastic wrap to seal the seam and press down with a tire on top. In the latter, you must first cut the upper edge to the cord, and the lower edge before the tire begins to bend inward (Fig. 50, b). After that, fill the center of the laid tire with concrete so that it catches the cut bottom edge, and after a few days the water tank is completely ready for use. It will serve for a long time, not being afraid of rust, not only for its intended purpose, but also as a decoration for a garden plot. To do this, it will be enough just to paint the tire. You can install such a product under the gutters from the roof.

Rice. 50. Water collectors: a - barrels of tires; b - a mini-pond from a tire (/ - a tire; 2 - water; 3 - concrete pouring; 4 - a pillow of sand or gravel; 5 - plastic wrap); c - rain collector (/ - supports made of poles or pipes; 2 - storage tank; 3 - gutter; 4 - film or oilcloth coating; 5 - nails;

6 - gasket made of tin, linoleum; 7 - bearing bars of the frame;

8 - slats of the crate; 9 - wire twists); g - fan collector

Gradually, a pond in the country becomes an integral part of a comfortable stay. To make the heat easier to bear, you can build a pond from the materials at hand - a do-it-yourself tire pool, for example.

On the suburban area the pool and the pond create a unique beauty. In addition, water bodies help summer residents and plants to endure heat. In its waters it is pleasant to cool off in summer heat and in the evening when the work is completed.

The unique microclimate is able to create even a tiny reservoir from a car tire.

If you know how to do it with your hands, a do-it-yourself tire pool will be an excellent alternative to expensive and not very durable inflatable pools. Its creation is not associated with material costs, and the products are durable and reliable.

In order for a pool to appear on the site, you will need:

  • big tire;
  • sand, cement and gravel;
  • an electric jigsaw and a knife with a sharp large blade.

The pool layout looks something like the one shown in the picture.

Procedure for arranging a reservoir

It all starts with tire preparation. It needs to be cut off on one side, leaving only the side. A jigsaw will help cut the cord. The grinder is less preferable in this matter, since rubber scatters from it and becomes sticky and it will not be easy to get rid of it.

In order for the structure to stand still, a site is prepared: in an area corresponding to the diameter of the tire, the turf is removed on the bayonet of the shovel. Make a sand cushion of small thickness. If it is planned to supply a concrete path to the pool, then the size of the site will need to be increased.

The next step is concreting. To carry it out, you need to knead the solution for pouring the prepared circle. The layer height is at least 20 cm so that the concrete does not crack during operation. While it is not frozen, install the tire.

The cement is leveled (the tire rim must be under a layer of cement, i.e. be invisible if you look inside the tire). Otherwise, cement must be added to keep the pool watertight.

So that the future reservoir does not move under the weight of water, it is recommended to fill the bottom with molten tar, on which a special (or polyethylene) film is placed. In extreme cases, the tire is painted from the inside.

After the work is completed, the structures are allowed to dry well. Then it is filled with water and covered with a plastic film that protects from sunlight, bad weather and pollution.

Since, in a sunny area, water will evaporate, settling on the inner surface of the film, it is recommended to ventilate it periodically.

After the bottom has completely dried, they begin to decorate and decorate the reservoir.

And here the scope for imagination is unlimited - you can paint the side surface of the tire with multi-colored paints, make brick wall, tighten with a mesh, plaster and lay out with a mosaic.

  1. If you cut a circle of plywood under the base of the tire, screwing it into the place where the rim will be, two bolts that serve to fasten the cement cork, you can get a portable pool from the tire with your own hands. The workpiece with the tire installed on it is then poured with cement. It is ready for use as soon as the materials dry well.
  2. To prevent cracks from appearing in the cement base of a stationary pool, it is placed in a dry place or a layer of gravel is placed under a pillow of sand.
  3. Do-it-yourself painting of the pool from a tire is carried out before filling it with water. There are no limits to fantasy here - they can be painted, laid out with mosaics, stone or brick.

The issue of replacing it is decided before pouring concrete: perhaps it will be a crane fixed with a lock nut and a pair of washers. The device will not leak due to the compression of the rubber. Water in unpainted tires heats up faster because the black color attracts heat better.

Tire pool decorative

You can create a decorative pool from a tire with your own hands on your site, which acts as a small pond. You can’t swim in it, but such a pond will be a great decoration. It can be overlaid with stone, decorated with flowers.

Filling it with water and algae, you can put fish there. The boundaries of fantasy do not exist here: you can lay out a mosaic, just paint it, etc. It will require a large tire.

And you will also need:

  • polyethylene film or bitumen;
  • concrete-cement mortar;
  • crushed stone;
  • vegetable soil.

Its creation begins with digging a foundation pit. Its diameter should be 20-30 centimeters over size tires. The depth of the pit is 2/3 of the width. The bottom of the pit is carefully leveled.

Crushed stone is poured on it, it is rammed and concreted. Then a waterproofing is created, for which the bottom is poured with melted bitumen to the height of the tire bead.

You can replace bitumen with a plastic film: they line the bottom with it, bending the edges outward.

But, it will have to be changed every year, so it is more correct to prepare a covering material instead of polyethylene, which is used for waterproofing pools.

The space formed between the tire and the walls of the pit is covered with soil and rammed.

After waiting until the cement hardens well (about a week), you can proceed to water procedures. We must not forget that even a small reservoir needs to be looked after - change the water, clean the bottom.

Video: Exclusive tire ponds

There is no doubt that today it is not a problem to buy an inflatable pool, which is easy to install, does not take up much space, and can be easily removed for the winter. But, such pools have one significant minus - the price.

When constructing a pool of tires, practically no material investments are required, and it’s just nice to freshen up in a pond, the construction of which is directly involved. You can feel all the advantages of such a pool by plunging into its cool water. Try it!
